• The Ray School PTO, in conjunction with staff and students, have undertaken an initiative to reduce incidents of teasing & bullying in our school and community. This initiative has involved teaching, student training, staff training, and parent workshops.

• The Richmond School was built in 1924 as an elementary school, but it has served as a middle school since 1970 and now educates sixth through eighth graders from Hanover and Norwich, Vermont. The school is located just blocks from the center of town and the Dartmouth College campus, providing access to people, events, and facilities of enormous value. The Richmond School and Hanover High School comprise the Dresden School District, the first interstate school district in the United States. It was created by legislation in both states and received final approval through an Act of Congress in Washington, D.C. President John F. Kennedy signed the Inter-State Compact into law in November of 1963 - the last piece of legislation signed before his assassination.

Dartmouth College (one of the Ivies and the ninth oldest college in the nation), Dartmouth is a private, co-educational, four year liberal arts college, founded by the Reverend Eleazar Wheelock in 1769. The institution sits on a 200 acre main campus immediately adjacent to Hanover's downtown business district in the southwestern corner of the township. Dartmouth's undergraduate college is complemented by seventeen graduate programs in the arts and sciences and professional schools including the Tuck School of Business Administration, Thayer School of Engineering, and the Dartmouth Medical School. Dartmouth, with over 4,200 undergraduate and 1200 graduate students, is one of the most prestigious colleges in the nation.
