Windy Hill School is an integral part of Colby Sawyer College's Child Development Program, and, as such, offers special opportunities for the youngsters enrolled in the programs. The school has three distinct programs: Toddlers, Nursery School, and a Primary Program. These are all staffed by appropriately degreed, experienced teachers. Lending their support and collaboration to the teachers are members of the Child Development and Psychology faculty, and students in the Child Development Program.

Developmentally based programs represent appropriate practices as set forth by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). This is achieved within the context of a play based, project oriented curriculum designed to meet the needs of children in both group and individual situations. Youngsters are provided with a wide variety of exciting materials and experiences and are encouraged to explore topics and ideas that are of interest to them. In operation since 1976, Windy Hill School has been continuously cited by outside agencies and consultants as an exemplary program for young children as well as outstanding training site for future teachers.

You have just arrived at a small, friendly school in New Hampshire, 12 miles south of Dartmouth College. Acoeducational, boarding school, with some day students. The main goal is to provide excellent academic preparation for college, but also offered is strong programs in the arts, sports and environmental science.

What makes Kimball Union Academy different than other schools? - First, the faculty: academic classes are taught by people who will make you excited about learning and will want to know who you are, too. - Then, the students: students are friendly people who love to do things. They are energetic and enthusiastic and many have chosen us because this is a place where you can do all the things you have always wanted to try. You can be on a championship-winning team at the same time as taking part in the annual musical; you can take a pottery class, learning how to throw a pot in our beautiful arts center, and also hone your slalom racing skills with the alpine team each afternoon at nearby Whaleback ski area.

- And there is location. We are in central New Hampshire where spring and fall are warm and beautiful, but winters bring plenty of snow for alpine and nordic skiing
